Local Entertainment

Entertainment is everywhere.  Even the smallest of towns offer something fun. Key West is no exception.

Many outdoor entertainment areas are offered to the public or the paying customer. The Key West Golf Club is an eighteen-hole golf course providing fun for golf lovers, no surprise there. Fort Zachary Taylor is a historical fort offering a beach and walking trails.  The entrance fee to the fort is only six dollars per vehicle and two and a half dollars for pedestrians and bicyclists.  There are many beaches around the area, such as Smathers Beach, Higgs Memorial Beach Park, Rest Beach, etc. Fishing is something many can enjoy.  

A bountiful amount of butterfly and nature exhibits are scattered around Key West. Nature is a place to explore the natural flora and fauna of an area. There is no better place to explore the nature of Key West than at one of the nature exhibits.  

The Key West Shipwreck Museum offers fun and information about underwater history.  Browse the collection of artifacts and learn about the shipwrecks of Key West. Truman’s Little White house now serves as a museum but was former President Harry S. Truman’s winter home.  Key West Aquarium has fun for everyone, offering experiences to get up close with a mixture of aquatic animals.  The Key West Lighthouse is another place you can visit, teaching visitors about what it takes to live in and run a lighthouse.

Duval Street offers many boutiques, and small shops, as well as restaurants.  Among the extensive amount of shops in Key West, there is also an escape room.  Escape rooms can be a good way to improve your memory, teamwork, and observation skills.  Key West Room Escape also offers a walking clue race, allowing you to explore the city while learning about it.

Tours of Key West are a popular option with tourists. Taking the Conch Tour Train while also learning what makes Key West what it is, is something everyone can enjoy.  If you like the supernatural, or don’t believe in it and just want a laugh, ghost tours could be fun. 

Fun is everywhere, you just have to look for it.  Whether you enjoy swimming, learning about history, or going shopping, entertainment can be found. Hopefully, this article has helped you find some fun around Key West, but even if it hasn’t, fun will find you.
