Final Stretch of Senior Year

In these last 40 days of high school, there is stress, relief, happiness, and sadness. Looking at the calendar, I realize how little I have left of high school. It’s starting to make sense of why past seniors have said this year goes by so fast.

As the saying goes, “April showers bring May flowers.” I hope it is also true for students’ success. As of April, I have my last home track and field meet, and my last track meet ever. Between those previous, I have scholarships due to what feels like every week, and I still have regular classes to keep up with. The last few days of March set the tone for April as it was my previous state competition for mock trials from March 27 through March 29, 2025. Though it was a great experience, it had bittersweet moments, like getting the team professionalism award and seeing my senior mock trial friend I met at the 2024 state mock trial competition. Having participated in mock trials all four years of high school, it was such a big part of my life for so long, and the memories I made will last a lifetime. Once the track season ends, whether I go to the district competition or not, I know that will be another bittersweet experience since I’ve only done it in my junior and senior years. However, I made many friendships, and it’s one extracurricular activity that motivates me to go to school. April is the annual Senior Skip Day and the final Senior Assembly.

Going into the final month of senior year, May, my schedule will be jam-packed. Whether it’s club and sports banquets, finals, graduation, or school, the final month of senior year will be eventful. However, I will find the little moments waiting between the events to soak up these final days. After all, senior year goes by in a flash.
