Mother nature waits for no one, and an example of this is the storm Nicole, which hit land on Wednesday. Nicole has left multiple watches and warnings across the east coast. Hurricane watches had been issued for Lake Okeechobee and Hallandale Beach to Boca Raton, Florida. Hurricane warnings had been issued as well, leaving Boca Raton to the Flagler/Volusia County Line vulnerable to damage. Watches for storm surges and tropical storms were given to Ochlockonlee River to Indian Pass, South of North Palm Beach to Hallandale Beach, Altamaha Sound Georgia to South Santee River South Carolina, and South of Hallandale Beach to North of Ocean Reef, Florida. Warnings for tropical storms were issued to Northwestern parts of the Bahamas, Flagler/Volusia County Line Florida to South Santee River South Carolina, Lake Okeechobee, Hallandale Beach to Boca Raton, and North of Bonita Beach to Indian Pass. Storm Surge warnings were issued to North Palm Beach Florida to Altamaha Sound Georgia, the mouth of the St. Johns River to Georgetown Florida, and the Anclote River to the Ochlockonee River. On Wednesday morning, the Bahamas were caught in a downpour from the storm. Officials have warned the public to be cautious due to damages already caused by Hurricane Ian. DeSantis even made a statement stating, “While this storm does not, at this time, appear that it will become much stronger, I urge all Floridians to be prepared and to listen to announcements from local emergency management officials.”
