Locals saw a Tv-show being filmed on Duval Street of Key West in the Florida Keys. The Tv-show is called Bad Monkey and was filmed in the Florida Keys and Miami, Florida. Bad Monkey was based on a 2013 novel written by Carl Hassen. The Tv-show idea was in progress of being filmed for a while until it was finally approved and started being filmed. It is going to be a ten-episode drama film that (according to the producers) is about a “former Miami cop who has been demoted to a health inspector.”
“ Hoping to give his law enforcement career a boost, Yancy is trying to get to the bottom of how and why a severed human arm ended up being pulled from the sea by a sport fisherman in the Florida Keys.”The cast members include Vince Vaughn, Michelle Monaghan, Jodie Turner-Smith, Meredith Hagner, Natalie Martinez, Rob Delany, Ahmed Elhaj, and Arturo Luis Soria.
Although AppleTV is sort of competing against Netflix and Amazon Prime by producing “scripted original programming”. Locals would see the show being filmed because it was estimated for the actors and crew members to stay in the keys for 4-5 months. The series location manager, Maria Chavez, had said that it was a good idea to film in the Florida Keys to bring in tourists. For example, Bloodline, a popular show on Netflix was filmed in the Florida Keys, and later on, people from all around the world saw it and came to the keys and more and more tourists came along.
The budget in Bloodline was 30 million dollars but with the help of tourism, it generated over 60 million dollars. Chad Newman, a Florida Keys film commissioner, had said during an interview that to this day “bloodline” fans still come to the keys. Since Lead Actor Vince Vaughn is going to be in Key West for a while, residents should watch out because any of the actors can be sitting next to you at a restaurant or bar ordering food or a drink.
