The worst and most destructive fire in Colorado history took place at the end of 2021. On December 30th, hurricane-force winds blew through Boulder County in Colorado. There was 110 mile per hour gust winds. A fire started and within hours the wind blew the fire through 35,000 people who had to be evacuated. The entire town of Louisville had to leave and the town of Superior and homes were burnt. There were 1,118 homes, shopping complexes, plus a hotel that was destroyed. On that day, the governor of Colorado, Jared Polis, declared a
state of emergency due to the fires in the front range.
People have been wondering why and how it started. It is known that there had been severe drought conditions. There was no snow and it had been extremely dry. , however, there is a video that has been circulating on social media of a Christian group named 12 Tribes, burning something on their property. The property is located South of Highway 93 and Marshall Road, close to where they believe the fire started. This group, to some people, is considered a religious cult. They have been accused of child labor abuse by the Southern Poverty Center. They also own twenty deli sandwich shops in the area.
So far, no one has been accused or charged, but an investigation is definitely underway.
