Why Water Parks Are Underrated

By: Thomas Horvath

Most people in America have probably been to an amusement park before. If you have, it’s also very likely that you had a blast during your visit. I love amusement parks, but they can sometimes be a real struggle. It’s either super expensive, or super hot out, or super crowded, or other things. An often underrated alternative is water parks, which I’d argue are a great alternative, especially in Florida.

Water parks may not be as big as amusement parks, but they’re not small by any means either. I’m mostly referring to Rapids Water Park since that’s probably the best one in Florida that’s affordable. Rapids Water Park has some of the coolest water slides, such as one where the floor comes out from under your feet, and you drop straight down onto a water slide, or the one with gigantic tubes that you slide off the walls of. There’s plenty of awesome rides to go on. What’s even better is that not only are there great rides, but you won’t have to wait in line for an hour or two every time you want to go on one. The longest I have ever waited in a line at a water park was maybe half an hour, if not less. The wait is always worth it, however, because since it’s not as dangerous as a roller coaster, you don’t need to sit in a seat all secured and unable to move. You can just slide right on in your bathing suit, which makes the experience more immersive. Water parks are also much less expensive than an amusement park, and you’re not going to be hot all day since you’ll be cooled off from the water.

I hope this article has made some of you consider going to a water park if you want the same experience as a theme park but without half of the struggles and annoyances.
