Donald Trump and his Children sued by New York Attorney General

Donald J Trump and three of his children have recently been sued by the New York State Attorney-General, Letitia James, over accusations of tax fraud and overvaluing their assets, with it rumored that they had overvalued their assets by billions of dollars, which breaks New York state and potentially federal law. This comes after his Mar-A-Lago resort was raided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) a month ago, with the second case being opened by Mrs. James compounding on top of the FBI’s investigation of his Mar-a-Lago property. Trump and his children are also being investigated by the FBI for sedition along with the accusations made by Mrs. James. In the opening statement for the legal filing against Donald Trump and his assosciates, the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) stated the following on the accused misrepresentation of Donald Trump’s personal assets:

NY State Attorney General Letitia James making a public statement (AP/Richard Drew/Via

“…[The] OAG has determined that Defendants Donald J. Trump (“Mr. Trump”), Trump Organization LLC and the Trump Organization, Inc. (collectively with the other named entities, the “Trump Organization”), Allen Weisselberg, and the other individuals and entities affiliated with Mr. Trump and his companies named as Defendants, engaged in numerous acts of fraud and misrepresentation in the preparation of Mr. Trump’s annual statements of financial condition (“Statements of Financial Condition” or “Statements”) covering at least the years 2011 through 2021.” (

The legal filing also blames Donald Trump and his multiple businesses for having a “common goal” of tax fraud, with The OAG stating, “This was approved by the highest levels of the Trump Organization- and even by Mister Trump himself”. The summons gives Donald Trump and his legal team a limit of 20 days to serve the court summons (30 if Mister Trump is out of state at delivery), which gives Trump a maximum of 1 month to respond to the Court Summons from Manhattan. It is expected that Donald Trump will likely make a statement on the new court summons at his “Save America” rally in Wilmington, NC, which is happening Friday night at 7 pm EST. The FBI’s case has progressed past the Circuit Court of Appeals, which means that they will likely open a full, criminal investigation into Donald Trump after they reobtain evidence that Donald Trump’s legal counsel had previously appealed. It is not known what steps Donald Trump’s legal counsel has taken against the Summons, and this article will be updated as more information is released to the public by both sides of the case.
