Diabetes: How much do you really know about it?

Diabetes is a long-lasting disease where it involves blood sugar. It can evolve at any point in someone’s life if they aren’t careful with their bodies, and there are many different types of diabetes. Type one affects pancreas production so that little to no insulin is produced. Type two affects the way the body processes blood sugar. Prediabetes happens when blood sugar is high but not high enough to be type two. Gestational Diabetes causes high blood sugar that can affect pregnant women. Signs that might show you that you’re diabetic are fatigue, blurry vision, increasing hunger, unexplained weight loss, and the main cause of diabetes is obesity or an inactive lifestyle.

Diabetes can develop within weeks/months. If somebody is unsure whether or not you have diabetes, you can test yourself by using a lancet to prick your finger, put your blood on a strip, and after, just wait for the results. If you have a more recently developed form of diabetes but don’t know what type it is, you can have different types of tests done on you like the A1C or glycated hemoglobin test to determine what type it is. You don’t necessarily need to go visit a doctor or hospital if you have diabetes, but if you have high blood sugar levels, you might want to get that checked out.

Can you develop diabetes if you eat too much sugar? The answer is No, it is not proven nor impossible to get it. If someone doesn’t know if they have diabetes and goes on with their daily life without treatment, their kidney can be critically damaged. If someone has high blood sugar then they should exercise, eat healthily, quit smoking (if they were), reduce sodium, stay hydrated, and do many other things if they wish to lower it. If you have low blood sugar then you should eat more salt when you eat something, wear compression stockings, take medications, drink more water, etc if you wish to raise it.

Signs that you might have low blood sugar include feeling tired, sweaty, dizzy, feeling shaky, numb lips, and a fast/pounding heartbeat. Protein shakes made with ingredients such as peanut butter and jelly, French toast, Rice protein, Apple cinnamon soya, Soy good, and Strawberry-banana shakes could also help get rid of diabetes. Furthermore, if you don’t like any of those options, then drink a protein shake that has high protein and low to no sugar added.

Any and many different body types can get diabetes. “People who have it usually don’t get enough sleep and if they do in the morning they usually get super dizzy and the reason for it is because of low blood sugar,” said a doctor during an interview. For example, everyone is prone to it, extremely healthy people can get it, super-thin people can get it, and overweight people can get it. Side effects of diabetes are weight gain, nerve damage, gum disease, fatigue, and even strokes. Foods that can cure or help not to have diabetes are Leafy greens, fatty fish, nuts/seeds, eggs, apple cider vinegar, and spices including cinnamon and tumeric. Vitamins that are great and could possibly help get rid of diabetes are Thiamin B1, Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Magnesium, Vitamin C, and Vitamin E. All of these things can help treat diabetes so that anybody can be free.
