Key West High School Boy’s Varsity Soccer kicked off their season with a 7-0 win Wednesday night, November 13th against Westland Hialeah. Since then, a 5-3-2 record has shown that they can be successful in the future. Coach Marc Pierre believes that, “We should be able to win our games in December if we work hard.”
Sean Croitoru, sophomore, has been playing soccer for nine years as both a striker and a right midfield. He believes even though the team lost a lot of seniors, they will still be as good as last year, and possibly even better. “We can have fun and be serious at the same time”, Sean explains. “In my opinion, our team chemistry is very good.”
Along with many former players on the team, a group of freshmen joined the bunch this season. Jonathan Bahri, right midfielder, is one of those new faces. “Being on this team means that I can play with my teammates and represent my hometown”, he said.

For his final season, senior Curtis Knowles wants to win the District Championship. The senior center back states that he has enjoyed, “The friendships and memories that have been created.” All in all, he wants to have a fun last go as a Conch soccer player.
With eight games remaining in the season, these boys have a lot to look forward to. With success being their mindset, hard work at practice should help lead them to victory.
