In February 2023, the United States (U.S.) shot down three unidentified flying objects (UFOs) three days in a row in three different locations. On February 10th, 11th, and 12th, the U.S Air Force shot down three UFOs in Alaska, Michigan, and with the approval of the Canadian Prime Minister, the Yukon territory. Additionally, with the spy balloons that recently came from China, many officials already suspected they were related to the original balloon.
With more objects flying over the United States, there seems to be two big questions. Which are-what are they, and why are more appearing in the sky? As for the first question, the objects remain as UFOs. Since the one shot down over Alaska was in a cylindrical shape that was silver in color and about the size of a car. Once it was shot down, it broke into pieces. The pilots in the F-22 aircrafts were saying the object had no propulsion system and was interfering with their radar. Though on Sunday, February 12, 2023 the US Air Force General would not rule out extraterrestrial life. However on Monday, February 13, 2023, the government changed their statement saying there was no evidence of extraterrestrial life or aliens. In fact, according to Reuters, White House spokesperson, John Kirby, said, “I don’t think the American people need to worry about aliens with respect to these crafts, period.” The unidentified aircrafts were also shot down over sparsely inhabited areas, so there was also a lesser chance of someone or something getting injured by the flying debris.

With the recent spy balloons from China, and these three UFOs, more conspiracies, specifically about the sky, deep space, and possibly interstellar space (the area between the sun’s heliosphere and the next Oort cloud) are emerging. Additionally, the office that specializes in investigating UFO sightings have received approximately 171 reports that have abnormal flight activity. The All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office, formed last summer, had 366 reports of which about 163 of those were balloons, 26 were all types of drones. Although, 195 of the reports had “unremarkable characteristics”.
As this lifetime goes on, and technology continues to advance, more artificial intelligence (AI) and more advanced aircrafts will appear. Which gives a greater chance for more UFO reports. However, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) already put a team of researchers to study UFOs for the following nine months after October 2022.
These three unidentified flying objects that were shot down show how well the United States’ radar systems work. Since most have become stronger overtime. However, they also make scientists research more into extraterrestrial life. Which does not specifically have to be in typical alien form like in movies or books, it could also be tiny forms of bacteria. Alien and extraterrestrial life is not always bad, there is a possibility that when and if we find other forms of life, that they could help us with certain problems on our planet.
