Phineas and Ferb Comeback

On Friday, January 13th, 2023, the creator of the show, Dan Povenmire, announced that there will be 40 new episodes of the children’s show Phineas and Ferb on Disney Channel. Following that, on Monday, January 16th, he released fans’ reactions to his announcement on his YouTube channel, all of which were more than excited to see the news.

The show, known by most high schoolers or college students, Phineas and Ferb first aired on August 17, 2007. Even though the theme song said there were “104 days of summer vacation,” the show instead had 4 seasons, 129 episodes, and 2 specials. Each episode,  step-brothers Phineas and Ferb, along with their friends, went on adventures you could only dream of and had experiences out of this world, sometimes literally. Although, the episode no one seems to forget is Season 2, Episode 3: Tip of the Day, which had the unforgettable song, “A-G-L-E-T” which we now all know is the little plastic or metal piece on the end of a shoelace. There are many more memorable moments in the show. Moreover, Dan Povenmire’s other show, Hamster and Gretel is getting renewed for a second season as well.

The behind-the-scenes part of this news is the characters. While it is not known if it will be the original cast or not, Dan Povenmire will most likely play the role he played for the last four seasons, which is the well-known Dr. Doofenshmirtz. Additionally, he will be an  executive producer of the show and voice-acting in the show. Povenmire will also produce a second show, which is, “Hamster and Gretel”. The show where Dan Povemire’s daughter voices the main character of Gretel. Producing one show is a lot of work, but producing two shows and voice-acting is a whole different level of work. Although, hopefully co-executive producer, Jeff “Swampy” Marsh will come back to the series as well.

Seeing how a cartoon from the 2000s brought joy to so many people shows how well the series was created. I hope that these next two seasons will bring delight along with a flood of memories from our childhood.
