An iconic yet infamous celebrity is Kanye West. He is a musician and businessman, selling over 21 million albums worldwide and becoming a billionaire in April 2020, according to Forbes. While having a major die-hard fanbase, he has seen himself in many controversies during his time in the sun. As of recently, he has been having many outbursts online, causing followers and friends alike to worry about his mental health. This begs the question, is Kanye okay? What could be the factors leading to his recent outbursts?
In 2016, West revealed that he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and was getting mental help. That same year, he released his seventh studio album (not counting collaboration albums), The Life of Pablo. While on tour for the album, West notoriously showed up late for performances, and when he did show up, would go on rants after a few songs, sometimes leaving early. In his rants, he would call out the likes of Jay-Z, Beyonce, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Mark Zuckerberg, and even Google. He would also state his support of Trump, stating he would have voted for him in the 2016 election. Fans were reasonably angered at West for leaving shows early, causing him to cancel the tour. However, this would not be the end of his outbursts. In February of 2022, West would begin frequently posting on his Instagram about his ex-wife Kim Kardashian and her new boyfriend Pete Davidson. He would post about his distaste for the SNL star, saying that he will never meet his children. As for Kim, he would leak messages between the two of them, where she was asking him to stop posting about them online. West would then send her a truck full of flowers on Valentine’s Day, which was not received well publicly. Many people said that this was very inappropriate and creepy for Kanye to do. After a while, West would delete all of his posts on his Instagram, taking a break from the app and social media as a whole.
This begs the question of if he is okay. While West has always been very outspoken about what he thinks, it seems like he is getting worse. His divorce has taken a major toll on his mental health, but hopefully, he is getting the help he needs.
