What was the Violence Against Women Act? The Violence Against Women Act provides money for prosecutions of domestic violence crimes. The bill was passed in 1994. A two-party group of senators on Wednesday announced that they had reached an agreement on reapproval of the Violence Against Women ł.
The group has agreed after several months. The group was led by Democrats Dick Durbin and Dianne Feinstein and Republicans Joni Ernst and Lisa Murkowski. Durbin said that both sides didn’t include everything they wanted in the reapproval. But then in the end they are compromised, so they can address the problems of domestic violence survivors
The senators said that the bill doesn’t have everything that each of them wanted but in the end they were satisfied. The main thing is that they can help all domestic violence victims. To help them with their needs and to help them recover.
This bill is very important. Without it, many people would not come forward about their experience because they know that they would not be able to pay for the legal fees that come after. With this bill, people will be able to talk about what they went through, without having to worry about having to go through court. Going through the bill is a good idea because times are different now so there may be things that need updating and tweaking.
