Top Games in AFC and NFC Wild Card

AFC – New England Patriots 6th (10-7) @ Buffalo Bills 3rd (11-6):

The Bills and Patriots rivalry has been heating up the past three years, with both teams getting the best of one another this season. The Patriots’ defense is the number one ranked defense in the league going into the playoffs thanks to acquisitions like Matthew Judon who recorded 12.5 sacks this year leading the team in that category. The Patriots in the first matchup against the Bills went their way the whole game as they had over 200 rushing yards and only attempted three passing plays. Buffalo didn’t have an answer for the Patriots that night, but they would be thinking about that game until their next matchup in week sixteen against the Patriots. The Bills handled business against the Pats as they put up thirty three points against that top Patriots defense and held them to twenty one points. The Bills are the only team in the league to have a top five offense and defense, that’s what you expect when you have talent like Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, Jordan Poyer, etc. The league will see how the rookie quarterback for the Patriots will handle the pressure of being in his first playoff game away against one of the most loyal and loud fan bases in the league. Buffalo will be as loud as ever, since it’s the first time these two teams have met in the playoffs since 1963. The Bills are -6.5 point favorites heading into this game.

NFC – Arizona Cardinals 5th (11-6) @ Los Angeles Rams 4th (12-5):

The Cardinals were once the number one seed in the NFL and they’ve fallen down to the fifth seed in the NFC. The Cardinals had a really bad slump in the second half of the season, they lost six of their last nine games after their 8-0 start. Arizona has one of the best offenses in the league and their defense has shown glimpses of dominance like in week one where they held the Tennessee Titans to just thirteen points who are currently the number one seed in the AFC. The NFC west has undoubtedly been the best division in the NFL the past few years, every year it’s had at least three teams with a winning record. The Rams have won the division three out of the last five years and made it to the Super Bowl in 2018 but fell short to the New England Patriots 13-3. The Rams acquired wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr who was getting some heat in the middle of the season for being the “problem” in Cleveland for the Browns. He caught five touchdowns in his first six games for the Rams and caught a game winner against the Baltimore Ravens to help them win 20-19. The Rams are looking to get past the Cardinals this week to head into the Divisional round, the Rams are -4 point favorites against at home.
