Monday after school from 6pm to 9pm there will be a HOCO parade,it will begin at Key West High School at 6:00pm and end at Tommy Roberts Stadium for Spirit Night. There will be a presence of KWHS’s band.

The freshman did a Jasmine and Aladdin scene the sophomores did the lion king act the juniors did a Mama Mia skit and the seniors did a bettle juice one. Who placed for 4th place was the Freshmans, they had a great act but it wasn’t enough to win first. The freshman had Jasmin and Aladdin exploring Conch Pride, Jasmin had never heard of it so Aladdin showed her and had a plot of experiencing new things and giving things a chance and how if you do it will be a wonderful experience. They were referring to Conch Pride the whole time so the real plot was to open your eyes and show your pride but not any pride, Conch Pride. The 3rd place winners were the sophomores. The sophomores did a Lion King act and had Simba growing up and trying to find his place in the world. Simba grows up to believe that he doesn’t belong in his father’s kingdom and searchers for somewhere he might, he goes to the elephant graveyard of the kingdom which is ruled by scar and scar and the hyenas try and convince him to stay, he’s got a weird feeling to leave but when he tries gets stopped by the hyenas yet gets saved by conch pride for the good side of the kingdom and sees that he will always be loved there and belongs to conch pride always. While this act only got a second place there were a lot of good props and events at the end. Our second-place winner is the seniors. The seniors had created a Beetlejuice skit in advance before the sum-up of the plot the seniors had very intriguing props such as the sandworm from the actual movie. They had black and white umbrellas that spun around and around to distract the audience for the background change which was definitely a smart choice in production. The plot of this one was that Lydia (the goth girl) wasn’t happy with her previous life she thought that it was boring at her school because she was new and everyone already had partners for everything all the sports had already started and she was just alone knowing no one so she found this weird man that said he could make life fun but only if she said Beetlejuice three time in a row unbroken, she was hesitant and everyone told her not to bust she ends up saying it. When she says it Beetlejuice is now released which is being shown with the costume changed the sandworm and lights everywhere when she does this she realizes she messed up she has to find all the letters of pride to fic the curse when she does everything goes back to normal and she sees that conch pride is more than just a pride its a lifestyle and she accepts her new classmates and finally is happy because she has conch pride. They all start dancing with joy with small rotens repeating simple dance moves but that gets the crowd hyped up. Know that Key West High’s first-place winner was the juniors with a mama mia skit. A rundown of it is that a girl had a mom who never told her about her past so she reads the mom’s diary and finds out that she has 5 dads each one with a name that has the first letter a letter from the word pride. For example, Paul, Rony, Izic, Danny, Elisha (P.R.I.D.E). She learns more about them and wants to be a part of Conch Pride yet still hast to prepare for the wedding the wedding arrives with a son and dance in the mix and at the alter she states the fact that she doesn’t want to get married ney more he wants to know more about her father and do everything that the conch pride stands for witch is Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Determination, Excellence

Thursday there is a Trunk of Treat in KWHS’s parking lot. It will be hosted from 6pm to 9pm.

They had lots of participants and a bounce house.

Wednesday there was an interruption in class time for the girls going for Homecoming Queen to show the school why they would be best for it. Most would think they would try and connect with the audience to show them that the school should pick someone that they can relate to. This was not so much what all of the girls did but gave some inspiring words on how we should try new things, or never give up, or even just said “Because in the club we all famm” to get a laugh out of the students. All of the young ladies wore beautiful dresses and had amazing spirits and love toward each other and the students.

Thursday is the day where all the students class by class vote on who each of them thinks the prom queen should be. There is also a prep rally at the end of the day the KWHS’s band will be performing as well as the KWHS’s color guards, cheerleaders, and the girls who are in the contest for prom queen and their escorts. The sophomores won the who is the loudest competition during the pep rally.

On Friday there is a football game yet no school for the students it will be welcomed by the teachers for a professional day instead. The football game is at 7:00pm. The school’s players and teachers hope to see everyone there to wish the Conch Football Team a bit of good luck with the Conch Pride spirit. With five minutes left and 48 seconds left in the second courter, the conchs are in the lead with 14 to 0. At halftime the score was 21:0 the Conchs were winning. With 27 seconds left in the third quarter, the other team doesn’t give up and makes a small comeback. Woah this was an incredible last game the conchs with with 28 to 7. That was also the senior’s last game so they all made the most of it at the senior walk and at the game.
