After not releasing music for two years, the Cuz I Love You singer, Lizzo, released ¨Rumors¨ featuring Cardi B. On August 1, she announced on social media that big things were on the way. Not soon after, feedback included a lot of racist and homophobic comments about the music. The next day she announced that she would be releasing Rumors on August 13, 2021.  

Lizzo is unapologetically herself and she doesn’t let anyone dictate what she can and can´t do, she really shows this through her music and her performances. The song is significant for girls who don’t feel comfortable in their bodies. Throughout the time she has been famous, Lizzo has done a fantastic job of making body positivity a big thing. It really shows through her Instagram page. She uses the lies and rumors about her as a strength in this song. 

The song hit number 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs (Billboard). The piece uses a funky 808 and horn-infused beat produced by Ricky Reed. Rapper Cardi B is featured on the song. In the song, Cardi talks about the rumors that have been started about her such as her plastic surgeries, her buying streams, and etc. This includes her plastic surgeries, her buying streams, etc. Lizzo addresses rumors about her in the song, such as her getting with famous musician Drake, weight, and diet. 

The music video for the song had a Greek mythology theme. She got inspiration from the movie Hercules. There might be a chance that she will be in the live action movie. In the video, Lizzo and Cardi B are wearing togas. They are also dancing in Greek in vases with Greek art. In the video, Lizzo represents plus-size women by having multiple plus-size women in the video. All they are doing is being themselves and looking good doing it. This is a fantastic song and when you listen to it makes you feel like you can be whatever you want to be. No matter who you are, you make a difference in the world.
