Jobs: Out with the human in with the Robots?

In modern times, with jobs, people usually have to work, but a rise has begun to occur with the lean towards artificial intelligence over people. They have been telling people they will not have to work and will get more jobs done efficiently. While this may be the case, it also creates a divide between people on whether or not this is a good sign for the future or a horrible idea. Each side has many reasons for both opinions, and how they should be trusted due to the information supporting them. We will dive in by showing each argument along with an example of how this supports they’re opinion,n along with how this could either be helpful or harmful to people.

We should first look at how it can be perceived as a good feature for technology and robotics to take over jobs. One of the reasons is that with its programming, it will follow the instructions down to the letter and not make mistakes, which is very good for the person having them instead of a person. An example of this would be to have a worker who constantly makes mistakes during a job and hurts the company. If the company hired a robotic helper, it would remove the problem and ensure that future issues don’t occur with the person. Another reason why they say this could work because it is more cost-efficient. An example of this would be having a person who you have to constantly work with and pay, along with unexpected situations like them going on vacation, which are a hassle. Still, if a robot were in place, the company saves money, which could go out to other parts of the company that might need it.

However, on the other hand, the other side that opposes this idea also has many good reasons why this is a terrible idea. They see this as a horrible idea because companies that do this won’t have to pay any employees and keep people out of jobs. An example of this would be having a person who has all the credentials and requirements to get a job, but can’t because every company he applies to uses robotics, so he can’t get a job, and his credentials are wasted. Another reason is that it disconnects the company from the people. The example which best shows this is when a problem has occurred, the company has looked over an issue that has caused the product to be faulty, which can’t be seen, due to the robotics not being able to tell the company about the problems due to their coding. Both sides have major arguments with one another, which means that both can be looked at as wrong and right, so it has to be decided by the people.
