The optional band spring trip is scheduled from April 17 to April 19 to Central Florida. The Key West High School band was expected to visit one amusement park, one water park, and go on a college tour, along with experiencing a lifetime opportunity at restaurants and taking tours around cities.

On Thursday, everyone met in the band room at 7:30 and left around 7:50 on the buses.

Arrived at the mall around 11:45 and met at the bus stop at 1 to leave. Before heading to the mall, the buses needed to refuel, so they stopped at Key Largo. After arriving at the mall, everyone was given $50 each to eat lunch and/or shop for souvenirs. They were then taken to the UCF and were welcomed by one of the students who was the current drum major. They ate dinner on campus and watched an event they call a symphony under the stars, where there was a body of water in between the audience and UCF’s symphonic band, which played a few pieces.

On Friday, breakfast began at the hotel at 8:00 a.m. They left for the Universal amusement park at 9 am after choosing groups to stick with around 8:20, as big as five people in a group, then got there at 8:40 leaving the students 12 hours in the park because they left at 10 pm getting to the hotel around 10:40-11 pm because of traffic.

On Saturday, the last day of this trip, they left their hotel rooms for breakfast around 6:30, loaded buses by 7:45, and went to the water park at 8 am and arrived to the West Palm Beach Rapids water park at 10:17 am. They were also provided lunch there at 12:50 and left the park at 2:6pm46, being early with the original hope of leaving at 3 pm, and got back to Key West around 8.
