Mamma Mia: The Musical

Monday, 4/7/25, was our first dress rehearsal, so we will be doing everything with our outfits for each scene. Actors are called at 3:45 to have the mic put on at 4:15-4:45. Then, after doing final lighting cues at 5:00, they will get ready for the top of the show; then at 5:30 get done setting up for the show and start the run threw at 5:30, have a 15 intermission at 6:30 for intermission and end at 7:45 to then get out of costumes un-mic and take notes to leave around 8:00 pm which they ended up going around 9:00 pm.

On Tuesday, April 8, 2025, all cast and crew members were expected to bring their childhood stuffed animals so they could be the first to watch the complete run-through. Everything was expected to run smoothly, considering they had obtained their costumes and everything else was figured out on Monday. They also had photoshoots that day so they started it off with Donna and the Dynamos, then Sophie, then the Dads then Eddie and Pepper then Sophie then the Dinamos again the Sky and Sophie and last but not least the dads again the outfits they wore each photo is disclosed and is not aloud to be with the show until after the production.

On Wednesday, 4/9/25, they had a full cast choreography review until 5:45 pm and then put on microphones until 6:30 pm. That day was their very first open rehearsal, and they performed exceptionally well. There were some technical difficulties, but overall, the actors did a great job, along with the technical team. The doors for the invited guests opened at 6:45 p.m., and the event began at 7:00 p.m. The actors had cupcakes in celebration and then had notes and left around 10-10:30 pm

Thursday, 4/10/25, was their opening show, the night before they were invited to dress rehearsals. This is the real deal with the people who paid to get in. The opening show was terrific, and the audience was very attentive. They laughed at all the jokes and clapped after all the big numbers. It was an excellent audience for their first show, especially for the freshmen and upperclassmen who are new to the drama club and performing.

On Friday, 4/11/25, they also performed exceptionally well and delivered it on time. The audience was a little smaller and less attentive. Still, it was considered a great learning experience, particularly when not every joke was clear to the audience or when something didn’t go as planned, to keep going and maintain the energy.

Saturday was great. The audience was even bigger than on the first night, and they were very attentive—not as much as on the first night, but enough to let the cast know they were doing great. After the show, the cast and crew celebrated with a cast party that included food and surprises for those who wouldn’t be there next year, the seniors.
