KWHS DRAMA CLUB TECH WEEK

The last week before the performance

The schedule says they were supposed to do a full run-through on Monday, 3/31. Surprisingly, everyone improved in what the director had been telling them needed to be better. As previously said, there was not much else that happened other than a lunch rehearsal and then the run-through, so Monday honestly might end up being the easiest thing they do this week.

On Tuesday, they had another lunch rehearsal, this time to discuss some last-minute changes the director decided to make on Monday and parts of the musical that they were not too confident in.

On Wednesday, there was a post saying that lunch rehearsals were TBD, and there was no lunch rehearsal. Today, March 31st, is the actor’s first day of seeing the set and having after-school rehearsals. The first day of tech week went great; the actors stood in their spots and listened to the directors on where to go to set the lighting. Most of the actors were bored because their phones were taken and talking was a no-go, but they were happy that they did well for the tech because they finished the whole first half.

There were no lunch rehearsals on Thursday, mainly because it was a texting day for 9th and 10th graders, so lunch was like free time. However, they are continuing rehearsals after school so the tech can finish lighting. They will be starting on Act 2 of the musical. They also plan to use mics and check them to ensure everyone who needs one has one.

On Friday, they went over the basics, so they have been doing what they have been doing: letting tech find lighting for each scene, followed by making sure everyone had their costumes that next day, Saturday. They met at KWHS from 10:00 a.m. to 7 p.m. that Saturday.
