This Spring, Mr. Hernandez had an idea to allow the band to see colleges and go to a waterpark together. Permission slips were already filled out; on March 3rd, emails were sent out about the due date of the trip payment. Each band member would have to pay a fee of $350 to experience this amazing opportunity. Mr. Hernandez encourages donations, sponsors, or donations from businesses to all the kids who want to go but can’t afford it or to specific students who may need it. The band field trip will include a UCF tour, lunch at a Mall, a hotel, Islands of Adventure, which is a theme park, a Chamber Winds concert, and Dinner at Cirque du Soleil if tickets can be bought in time and if not then they will watch a movie at city walk, and last but not least they will find themselves at West Palm Beach Rapids Water Park.

The field trip will last from Thursday, April 17, till Saturday, April 19. First, all band kids are needed to report in the band room on Thursday, April 17th, at 7:30am to start their first day of the field trip, Then after a little drive, they will stop at a mall on throat for lunch around 11:30am-12:30pm and then will arrive to UCF for a tour at 5:00pm then around 6:30pm they will watch a UCF Chamber Winds Concert, and you can’t forget about dinner they will also be eating dinner there around 7:00 pm. Then, at 8:00pm, they see the symphony under the stars, and that concludes their first day.

On the second day, they will have breakfast at the hotel at 8:00 a.m., then depart around 8:45 a.m. for the Island of Adventures. They will eat dinner at either Cirque du Soleil or the movies at City Walk and then return to the hotel around 10:30 p.m.

For their last day, they will eat breakfast at 7:15 a.m. and then leave at 7:45 to go to West Palm Beach Rapids Water Park, where lunch will be provided. They should arrive around 10:30 a.m. and will leave at 3:00 p.m. to hopefully arrive back at KWHS at 8:00 p.m.
