Books have been of value to us for years. The first printed book ever made doesn’t even have a known date, though it’s thought to have been created between the 2nd and 5th centuries. Books were first designed to record thoughts, ideas, and historical recordings. While books were mainly used as journals earlier in time, now society has turned them into ways to write fictional stories or creatively send messages. They have even created picture books, just books with images in them for younger readers. Another new upgrade is color, before they’d use white paper and black ink and maybe a brown cover while today the covers are always filled with a sneak peek of the book. Most books are overlooked even though most people know how important they are and how much they can impact a life. One of the many ways reading is valuable and essential in your life is that it improves your memory. Reading a book with a plot you may be interested in may encourage you to tell others about the book, strengthening your ability to remember what you read. Most have trouble remembering what they read if they are not interested, but it will do you great when you find the right book.
Another thing books achieve with just their text is helping you to learn how to focus and concentrate on something while also increasing your vocabulary. Finding the right book for you is essential because when you do, you don’t realize how long you’ve read and all the new words you have learned. You may see an interesting word and not know what it means, but being so invested in it and using context clues gives you an idea of what it could mean if you do not entirely figure it out.
In conclusion, books are very mentally supportive in different ways. Although you may not like reading, you should always try reading a book without being told. You may end up loving it.
